Pets are cute but the “presents” they leave outside on a daily basis; not so much. The best poop scoopers have a well made design that is easy to maneuver, light in weight, has some sort of antimicrobial protection and work on a variety of surfaces. Poop scoopers eliminate the need to have to bend down to pick up the poop, which is especially for anyone with any type of back and neck problems. One very important feature they should come with in my opinion is that it is non-stick and easy to clean. After all the whole point is for it to make your life easier not to have to constantly scrape out the mess.

Nature's Miracle Jaw Scoop
Nature’s Miracle Jaw scoop is an extremely popular choice among dog owners. It is well made, strong and can scoop the poop from any type of surface, it even works well in snow. To accommodate dogs of all sizes it is available in 2 sizes; medium and jumbo. The medium is 32 inches long and the jumbo is 36 inches. It is designed to be non-stick, but since it isn’t lined with a plastic bag, to avoid a messy situation it works best if the poop has had time to dry for a bit, otherwise you’ll probably find yourself scraping it off the scooper.
It is very light in weight, but it does take some strength to open and close the jaws. So if picking up after your dog is chore that your child does or if you have any health issues with your hands / wrists, that is something you’ll want to take into consideration.

Clean Go Pet Rake-Style Sanitary Dog Poop Scoop Set
This is a well made, easy to assemble, chrome plated design that will last for many years. It is designed to remove poop from concrete surfaces. If your dog routinely goes to the bathroom on grass, this is probably not the best poop scooper choice for you.
The poop pan is small so if you have a large dog or multiple dogs you’ll likely won’t be able to collect everything in one shot. Another thing to take into consideration is it’s weight. This made of stainless steel and is not a not a light as the models that are made of plastic. It ways a few pounds so it’s not super heavy but still something to keep in mind if you suffer from something like carpel tunnel.
Features:
Nature's Miracle 2-in-1 Rake N' Spade
Nature’s Miracle 2 in 1 Rake and Spade scooper is easy to use, light in weight and helps to speed up the process of cleaning up after your pet. It works on a variety of surfaces including gravel. It has a non-stick, antimicrobial treated surface that is easy to keep clean. It provides the flexibility to easily switch back and forth between a spade and rake that way you can use whichever one works best to clean the surface that your pet left his or her business on.
At 38 inches tall, it has an ideal height to minimize any bending over. The width of the pan is also great. It is around 8 inches, making it wide enough to hold multiple “loads” before having to empty it which is especially helpful if you have large or multiple dogs.
Features:
Doody Digger Pooper Scooper
In terms of design and how it works the Doody Digger is probably the most unique poop scooper on the market. Unlike other scoopers that use some sort of jaw clamp or rake / pan system, the Doody Digger consists of a long, tube that has a shovel like opening at one end and at the other end has an opening that a plastic bag gets attached to that is used to collect the waste. You simply scoop the poop up with the shovel.
The tip of the scoop is pointed making it easy to insert it under the pile to easily get it into the shovel like opening. Once it’s sitting on the base of the shovel all you need to do is tilt it upright. From there gravity takes over and into the bag it goes.
It comes with starter bags, however plastic bags from the grocery store work just as well. It is extremely light weight which is really important considering that you have to tilt it upright to get everything into the bag. The tube is wide enough to handle even the piles that large dogs leave behind. The inside of the tube is designed to prevent anything from sticking to it. However, I don’t recommend using it if the poop is really wet because even with it’s non-stick surface it will still make a mess that you’ll need to clean with a hose. Overall I think this is one of the best poop scoopers money can buy, but just remember to make sure the poop is dry before you scoop.

Budhha Dog Complete Poo Pack - Great For Travel!
The Poo Pack is a complete starter kit. In addition to the scooper (which you get can get in pink or blue) it comes with a really cute doggy bone shaped bag holder that is pre-filled with bags, plus an additional roll of bags. It is a lightweight yet sturdy scooper, that works well for any size dog and can be used on all surfaces.
However, the downside of it is it’s size. I prefaced this with “great for travel” for a reason. It’s small and compact making it an excellent choice to take with you while on the go. But it’s too short for everyday scooping. It’s 24 inches tall and definitely requires you to bend down. So if you are looking for an everyday scooper that won’t make you constantly bend over, this is definitely not for you. While I don’t recommend this for everyday use, in my opinion this is the best poop scooper on the market for travel adventures with your dog.
Features:
GoGo Stik, The Totally Clean Pooper Scooper
The GoGo Stik basically looks like a butterfly net except instead of a net at the end of it there is a plastic bag. By scooping poop directly into a plastic bag there isn’t anything to clean or rinse after, which sometimes happens when wet poop is collected using other poop scoopers that use a pan to collect the waste. All you have to do is remove the bag and throw it away, making the overall process pretty sanitary. It comes with 10 dootie bags but also works with any plastic grocery shopping bag.
One of the best features about this product is that the length is adjustable. The length of the pole can be set anywhere between 25-35 inches, so you can adjust it to the length that works best with your height. The length of most scoopers are a set size so being able to adjust is a big plus feature wise.
The down side of this product of it is that the scooping process takes some getting used to. Until you get the hang of it and scoop with the right angle you’ll find that you end up rolling the poop away instead of actually getting it in the bag. So while I do love how the poop ends up directly in the bag, I think the Doody Digger is much easier to use and provides the same end result of the scooping directly into a plastic bag.
